Continuous efforts in internationalisation which is among the priorities of BEU have brought about excellent results. Recently, three agreements have been signed with universities from China, Azerbaijan and Argentina. Extensive efforts of BEU International Affairs Office and continuous communication ever since the visit to China in November 2015 have enabled the signing of an agreement between Beijing University of Language and Culture (BLCU) in February 2016. The span cooperation with Chinese universities is going to widen with BLCU especially in the field of social sciences and language instruction. Within the framework of cooperation with BLCU, a Chinese language course is going to be established and Chinese Language and Literature department is going to be established in the long run.
Another agreement signed in February 2016 has been signed with Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry (ASOIU). Within scope of this agreement, exchange of students and academic staff from friendly country Azerbaijan which are already in progress are expected to be enhanced. As sources of energy and oil are becoming increasingly important in modern world, BEU faculties of Economics of Administrative Sciences and Faculty of Engineering are going to involve efficient activities of cooperation with ASOIU.
In March 2016, an agreement was signed with National Arturo Jauretche University (UNAJ) located near Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. Ever since its establishment in 2011, UNAJ has become a center of attraction for both Argentinean and International students especially in the fields of health, social sciences and engineering. UNAJ has a famous department of oil engineering, which offers basis for cooperation in the crucial field of energy possibly involving ASOIU at the same time.
With these intensive efforts, a new continent, South America, has been included in the cooperation network of BEU. Academic staff and students of Bülent Ecevit University are going to have the chance to cooperate with many more universities from all over the world in near future. Agreements with universities from Portugal, Brazil, Korea, Algeria and Romania are going to be signed soon, which will enhance the ever-increasing expansion in BEU’s network of international cooperation.
